Nursing at Osler

As with most health care environments, nurses make up the majority of the staff at William Osler Health Centre. There are over 1,600 registered nurses and registered practical nurses working in a wide range of capacities across Osler hospitals. We rely on them to be the coordinators of patient care, the first line of contact for families and invaluable members of the health care team.

Our vision for nursing at Osler is to provide high quality holistic care for patients and their families and to create a supportive workplace for nursing staff.

At William Osler Health centre we believe in a culture that supports:

Healthy and Rewarding Work Environments

Nursing Professional Practice

Nursing Professional Development

What Our Nurses Say

William Osler Health Centre is definitely a community hospital. I’ve lived in Brampton since I was 10. Sometimes at work I run into people I’ve known in high school! There is that community connection.

Osler has enabled me to develop professionally as a clinical nurse specialist, which involves many different roles in education, advanced practice, leadership, consulting and research. That’s very satisfying.

Lucy G., R.N., Clinical Nurse Specialist

William Osler Health Centre has a great group of enthusiastic people. The professionalism and friendliness of the staff make it worth while to work here. Professional development is provided in the form of in-services, nursing grand rounds, and financial assistance for post-RN training through a TD bank grant. I am proud to be providing family-centred, evidence-based care. With the new hospital opening soon, there will be endless opportunities to learn and grow and accept new challenges in the near future.

Jyoti S., R.N., New Nursing Grad
